With all the war mongering and terrorism threats occurring globally at the moment, it might do to take a break from the reflected morality of Facebook and Twitter. As the famous ‘Cheers’ opening has it, ‘Making your way in the world today/takes everything you got’. And, ‘Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name’. Well, everybody knows your name on the aforementioned social network giants obviously, but they’re not always glad you came. However, the Californian developers behind BUCKiTDREAM, a brand new sort of social network billed as the World’s First Dream Platform, want you to accentuate the positives. Their new app’s all about the future, more specifically your future. Intrigued? It’s out now on iOS and soon on Google Play.

So how does it work? Well, BUCKiTDREAM comes in the form of a social network platform, which any user of Facebook, Instagram or Twitter will recognise. Immediately it’s easy to navigate and the interface is designed in an appealing red, which goes a long way in establishing the app’s unique identity. You log in through Facebook, Google or email, and it immediately transfers your profile picture and some info across to get you started.

But what does BUCKiTDREAM actually do? Essentially, it allows its users to share dreams with each other. Not literal dreams, mind you; and just because it’s based out of California, if you’re getting hippie-haze vibes and walking (or clicking) the other way, don’t do it! BUCKiTDREAM deals in very literal dreams; dreams you can achieve, that can happen in the real world, within the space of five years. A proper, yet not as commercial pitch, would be an ambition sharing app. You can follow other people and watch as they achieve their dreams, and update dreams of your own to check off as you go through your life.

It’s an endearing idea, and one that’s full of genuine positivity. And if you’re looking for some inspiration for something to do, this is the place to find it. For example, I didn’t know there was an underwater hotel in Fiji, but it sure looks enticing and I’ve now added it to my own bucket list. There’s all sorts of imaginative and inspiring ideas that you can get from just a cursory glance through the app. It’s a forward-thinking, engaging idea, built on a genuine desire to bring a little light in to the world. Though its user base is small at the moment, I’m sure this app will continue to grow and expand. Jump on this band wagon now, and start expanding your horizons.
